DOCTOR is an optometrist/ophthalmologist, and is a “covered entity” within the meaning of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA”), and the standards for the Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (“Privacy Rule”) promulgated by the Department of Health and Human Services.

DEL a division of Optical Distributor Group, provides Lab Services/Spectacle Lenses to DOCTOR, which services necessarily involve access to, generation of, use of, or disclosure of health information that identifies individual patients (protected health information – “PHI”).

At DEL , protecting your patient records is very important. We value your trust and we want you to understand that the information provided in order to correctly process your patient’s orders, is secure and protected. DEL will maintain the physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect all personal information provided and adhere to guidelines as outlined by H.I.P.A.A.
